Pete Webber is a veteran cycling expert with more than 25 years experience in all types of riding. He started pro mountain bike racing in 1993 and raced the NORBA and World Cup circuits with Team Gary Fisher thru the ’90s. Cyclocross became his niche, and a silver medal at the 1994 National Championships in only his first season earned him a spot at the World Championships in Belgium. Pete has been the Masters Cyclocross World Champion, 6-time Masters Cyclocross National Champion, and Mountain Bike Marathon Masters National Champion. He’s been teaching cyclocross to up-and-coming racers for more than 15 years, and has been the head cyclocross coach for Boulder Junior Cycling since 2013.
In 2011, Pete completed a 12-year career at the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) where he helped develop the organization into the well-respected leader it is today. He is a trailbuilding expert and led the development of two books on the topics of trailbuilding and mountain biking: Trail Solutions (2004) and Managing Mountain Biking (2007). Pete has designed many mountain bike trails and cyclocross race courses and was the lead designer of the Valmont Bike Park in Boulder. Pete is the chair of the USA Cycling Cyclocross Committee and has been inducted into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame.
